Middlesex Club of the Year 2022 Conway Lawn Tennis Club is hosting a visit from Middlesex LTA president David Rawlinson on Friday 29 April.
Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, and Deputy Mayor of London and Deputy Mayor for Children and Families will also be in attendance.
Enfield and Southgate MP Bambos Charalambous will get a chance to reprise his winning form following the official opening of new floodlights on court 5 in February.
A keen tennis player, Mr Rawlinson will take part in Conway’s weekly ‘Coffee and Play’ session, a fun mix of light coaching for players of every level, which runs from 10:00 hrs every Friday. Head Coach Corinna Mirea offers a full range of coaching for juniors and adults at all levels, which can be booked via the club’s website.
Coffee and cake are available from Anna’s café for players and visitors alike.
Conway LTC Chairman Graham Sievers encouraged all players and interested local residents to join in the event, or simply support from the side lines. Attendees can meet volunteer club committee members and learn about efforts to preserve the recreation area, including the lake with its thriving bird and wildlife.
During the pandemic, the family-friendly club doubled its membership.
Conway Lawn Tennis Club will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2025.
